The Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan (MOEA) budgeted NT$2.29 billion (US$7 million) in 2008, and replaced all traffic lights in its counties and cities with LED lights in the next three years. The Ministry of Economic Affairs will also encourage public agencies to urgently Go out and wait for the 24-hour warning light to change to LED. The Taiwan Energy Bureau said that there are now 350,000 traffic lights in Taiwan using LEDs as light sources, and the remaining 420,000 traffic lights will be replaced with LEDs within three years.
