Photovoltaic power to guide China closer to clean energy

The “2011 Sanya International Forum on Solar Thermal Power Generation Technology” was opened at the Sunshine Hotel in Sanya, Hainan Province. The forum was sponsored by the China Renewable Energy Society and the Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics. The Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Science and Technology Thermal industry technology innovation strategic alliance contractors.

More than 400 representatives from government departments, investment companies, research institutes, universities and enterprises and institutions from China, South Korea, Spain, the United States, Germany, and Italy attended the forum. China Haiyang New Energy Power Co., Ltd. was invited to attend the forum.

It is reported that the theme of this forum is "to promote solar thermal power generation technology into commercialization". The meeting mainly discussed the related contents of solar thermal power generation technology, economy and industrial policy.

At the forum, the participating academicians, domestic and foreign experts, scholars and entrepreneurs focused on the major scientific and technological issues facing the commercialization of solar thermal power generation technology, solar concentrating technology and equipment, solar thermal power generation systems and energy storage, and solar thermal power generation technologies. Industries such as industrial development and investment opportunities, solar thermal power generation material technologies, design technologies for solar thermal power generation systems, site selection and system design for solar thermal power plants, and national policy support mechanisms for solar thermal power generation were discussed and discussed.

During the forum, companies related to solar thermal power such as China Haiyang also displayed technologies and products. According to reports, the solar concentrating solar thermal power mirror project invested by China Haiyang in Chengdu Shuangliu has a total investment of 2 billion yuan. The first phase of the projected production capacity can meet the demand for 800 megawatt solar thermal power station on the mirror field.

Industry insiders believe that solar thermal power generation is most likely to become China's largest share in the future under the promotion of national policies due to its good compatibility with existing power grids, high photoelectric conversion rate, continuous and stable power generation and strong peaking power generation capacity. The new energy source thus guides the development of clean energy in China.
